Another western clone is called Snapp.This is an Iranian version of Uber. Founded in 2014 by Shahram Shahkar, a graduate of Manchester University, UK, it now has some 10,000 drivers and five million registered users in Tehran and two other cities. Shahkar recently launched Snapp One, offering a female-only driver service and Snapp VIP, offering Maseratis and Porsches for richer clients. Founded by Mohammad Javad Shakouri Moghadam in 2005, it is part of Sabaldea, a company that is also behind a number of other successful internet projects, including Cloob. com, a Persian-language social networking site with over 3 million users, and Mihanblog.com, a free blog hosting service. Sabaldea was launched with a staff of 3 and now has some 65 employees.
